This image was from my first hike into the Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Mountains. We spent two nights camping and exploring near Lonsesome Lake. Once I realized the direction of the sunrise and found a location for this shot, I set an alarm and crawled out of the tent well before daylight and hiked to this spot. I was joined by my wife and, while she was a little bleary eyed at that hour, the moment was magnificent.
