I am drawn to the West. The light. The mountains, the prairie, the people, the wildlife, the sky, and the grit that blows in on the wind. It all stirs my emotions and inspires me to explore. And I admire the grit it takes to build a life in this hard land. More than anything, I am inspired by the vast, unrelenting beauty of the West.
Along the way, I have gained a deep appreciation for a way of life where work follows the rhythm of the land — where a person becomes connected to the dirt underfoot, the sky overhead, and the animals that share the day’s labor.
This collection of images has grown out of time spent in the company of people who live close to the land - people who understand that the West isn’t something you watch from a distance. You earn your place in it. Show up early, stay late, and learn to read the weather, terrain, and the animals.
This collection echoes the stories I’ve been trusted with and the moments when the West revealed itself in its truest form: raw, demanding, and deeply alive.
